Salary: £30,000-£35,000

Shift pattern: Monday – Friday

Working Hours: 09:00 – 17:30 with a 1-hour break for lunch

About the role:

Due to ongoing and continued success, we are looking for an ambitious Management Accountant to join our thriving finance team. This is a new role within the business and offers the opportunity for a Part Qualified accountant to make it their own. A fantastic opportunity to join a growing business in a role with a huge scope for development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Management Accountant you will be working with the Group Head of Finance to provide accurate and timely management information to stakeholders, so they are well-informed with financial information in relation to sales, operations, business costs and profitability.

The role will require a working knowledge of transactional process and be able to work closely with the wider finance team to ensure requirements for the weekly and monthly processing are met.

The Management Accountant is responsible for overseeing relevant Balance Sheets, ensuring adequate financial controls are in place and that all balance sheet account reconciliations; including Fixed Assets and Control Accounts are carried out in a timely manner with discrepancies being investigated and resolved.

The role will also produce detailed information that allows for successful budget monitoring and reporting so that the business performs as per agreed expectations.

You will deliver and support on compliance against all regulatory and legislative requirements including completion of VAT returns and delivery of annual statutory accounts. This will include building solid relationships with our internal and external auditors to deliver strong internal controls ensuring the accuracy of our financial information.

The Management Accountant will also support the Group Head of Finance in the delivery of effective management of long-term projects, you will ensure that projects deliver on time and within budget and any variation to this is understood by the relevant managers.

Requirements:

  • AAT level 4 qualified or equivalent
  • Working towards Professional Accountancy Qualification (desirable)
  • Accountancy experience within a similar environment including the production of Management Accounts.
  • A strong understanding of accounting concepts such as accruals, prepayments, statement of financial position and cashflows.
  • Experience of working closely with key stakeholders to develop and maintain strong relationships and financial information.
  • Experience of budget analysis and the development of financial forecasts.
  • Working knowledge of transactional accounting and accounting concepts.
  • An understanding of the process in the production of statutory accounts.
  • Understanding of relevant financial systems including Sage 50 Accounting and Sage 200
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines.
  • An ability to analyse and explain financial information in a clear way at all levels both in report format, presentations and verbally.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
