Working as part of a fast-paced finance department within an ambitious retail business, you will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate management information to business. In addition to month end duties this role will play an important part in the financial controls of the business as well as assisting in driving the finance department forward.

You will be an ambitious, curious and forward-thinking individual who is keen to interrogate numbers and investigate the business drivers. You will take pride in the accuracy and presentation of financial data. You will be professional yet unwavering in your dealings outside the department whilst setting an example for your colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts for the board to deadline.
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary for submission in the board report.
  • Business partnering with head office functions to ensure accuracy of accounts and financial support.
  • Assist in preparation of Statuary accounts and audit process.
  • Assist in managing the finance departments budgeted expenditure.
  • Completion of sales reconciliations.
  • Completion of ONS returns.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany and balance sheet control accounts.
  • Assist in producing annual budget and twice forecast, working alongside the business.
  • Continuous review and improvements of internal audit procedures.
  • Reviewing proposed cheque runs for accuracy.
  • Assist with International and Intercompany invoicing.
  • Assist and provide cover for weekly reporting.
  • Ad-hoc reporting for the business
Skills & Experience
  • Familiar with accounting packages ideally Unit 4 or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar finance role, retail or multi-site preferred.
  • Part qualified and currently studying towards the ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Intermediate experience of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with individuals and with a wide variety of organizations and audiences.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise tasks, handle pressure and support finance team.
