Role Title: Mamafit Trainer

Main purpose of role:

To deliver exercise & lifestyle courses, fitness classes and buggy walks for pregnant women, mums with babies/young children and families.

Main responsibilities:

  • Delivery of exercise & lifestyle courses and fitness classes; Indoor, outdoor and online.
  • Leading buggy walks in local green spaces.
  • Activity management, including; coordination of activities, communication with attendees during and following activities, ensuring all relevant admin is completed, monitoring attendance and completing course reports.
  • Public outreach and promotion within the local community and online.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing general administrative tasks; including writing reports, producing blogs/videos & providing information to attendees.
  • Support, communicate with and take responsibility for all attendees.
  • Support the Project Manager and the directors to grow and develop the Mamafit and Mums SOCIAL programmes.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the challenges of being a new or expectant parent.
  • Knowledge on how to tailor physical activity and lifestyle advice for pregnant women, new mums and families.
  • Knowledge on online platforms, including Zoom, used to deliver online activities.
  • Able to understand and effectively use a wide range of IT programmes and systems including; spreadsheet databases, word processing, email and social media.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining client confidentiality and ensuring all personal information is handled in a sensitive manner; adhering to GDPR guidelines at all times.

Experience:

  • Experience of delivering fitness classes.
  • Experience of delivering activities online.
  • Experience of working with pregnant women, mums, children and/or families advantageous.
  • Experience of undertaking outreach work in the local community including planning, organising or attending public events.
  • Experience of using social media.
  • Experience of administrative work.
  • Experience of working as part of a small team.

Qualifications:

Desirable

  • Level 2 Fitness Instructor.
  • Current First aid certificate.
  • Level 3 Antenatal and Postnatal Exercise
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer
  • Level 3 Exercise Referral
  • Pilates Instructor
  • Yoga Teacher
  • Level 4 Exercise and Mental Health
  • Degree in Sports Science, Physical Activity or Nutrition.

Other:

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to suit the needs of the organisation and programme attendees.
  • The successful candidate will be recruited on a freelance basis.
  • Position subject to DBS and reference checks.
  • Full driving license and own transport essential.
  • Full training will be provided to deliver Mamafit activities to a high standard.
  • Equipment and uniform provided.
