Maintenance Technician

Are you an experienced maintenance technician in Isle Of Wight? We have a great opportunity for you in the wind industry.

The maintenance department is a support function to the blade manufacturing process, with 28 engineers responsible for the service of tools, equipment, machines and transport equipment on site, ensuring equipment and tools perform to the required standard, breakdowns are dealt with in a timely manor, and all relevant information is captured on the EAM system.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical equipment and hand tools.
  • Maintain calibration/measurement equipment and systems.
  • Interrogation of PLC controllers and systems
  • Administer the maintenance systems, with planned maintenance activities as well as responding to breakdowns.
  • Keeping the work area safe and clean, making use of 5S methodology.
  • Contribute to equipment supplier evaluation.
  • Work safely and ensure colleagues do the same.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Formal qualifications in a relevant tradesman / craftsmanship discipline, e.g. Mechanic, Electrician, Engineer, are required.

  • Ability to work in shifts is essential.
  • A high degree of adaptability & flexibility.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

What we offer:

  • Maintenance Technician basic salary is £36,593.00 per annum.
  • The starting salary is £31,000 for a minimum of 3 months, after completion of targets/competency assessment you will move onto the MT basic salary.
  • The probation period is 6 months, reviews are conducted frequently during the period.
  • Shifts are rotating, we operate 24/7 production week made up of 4 x 12.25 hour shifts per day, 4 on 4 off

06:45 - 19:00 (Days / then 4 days off)

18:45 - 07:00 (Nights / then 4 nights off)

  • Discretionary Bonus - up to 5% of basic salary dependent on KPIs within the business being achieved.
  • Holidays entitlement will be 19.6 days for a complete holiday year, inclusive of bank holidays and 2 factory shutdowns, a 2 week break in the summer and a 1 week break in winter over the Christmas period,
  • You will be auto-enrolled into the company Pension Plan after 3 months service. Employee contribution is 1.5% minimum / employer contribution is 7.5%
  • The company operates private medical (BUPA) & dental (Cigna) schemes, available from day 1 of service. The Company pays for your membership. However, you can elect to pay for partner & children under 18
  • Life Assurance (x 4 basic salary) - from day 1 of service.
