Maintenance Technician Job Description

Reporting to – Maintenance Manager.

Operation – Maintenance Technician.

Impact Recycling are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their Maintenance Department. This is a great opportunity to join a small but quickly expanding company. Now at Peterlee. They will also be involved in any upgrades that are planned for the machines to improve operational efficiency and productivity.

The Maintenance Technician -Traits

The role is one which requires attention to detail, exemplary workmanship and stamina. The role is a pivotal position ensuring high levels of equipment availability and reliability. A self-starter who can work under pressure, deadlines and think on their feet, have good reaction times, a flexible approach is required and go that extra mile in a dynamic environment.

Area of Responsibility – The maintenance repair and modification of the Impact-Recycling plant and equipment.

Duties:

Safety

Ensure at all times you operate in a way which does not put at risk personnel or equipment on site. Adhere to the appropriate Health and Safety rules associated with the shop floor and wear the appropriate supplied PPE.

Primary

Responsible for the smooth running and availability of the plant and equipment. You will ensure a high standard of safety, maintenance and repair, ensuring high levels of availability and reliability. To have the understanding that a “that will do attitude” is unacceptable. Working in a small team carrying out planned and reactive maintenance. Working on motor’s, pump’s, hydraulics and pneumatics. Assist with machine installation and improvement.

Secondary

Secondary activities will include.

  • Identify and control parts and tools.
  • Improve machine and site health and safety.
  • Work on equipment and facility projects.

The Person:

Essential Attributes

  • Ability to fault find on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Engineering qualification or working towards.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
  • Team player.

Desirable Attributes

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working within a maintenance department.
  • Multiskilled experience.
  • Experience working on heavy plant equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Can work unsupervised.

Job Details

Currently Days/Backs Shift Role moving to 3 shift pattern in the near future

Salary - £15.00 - £15.75 p/h dependant on experience

Start date – a.s.a.p.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From £31,200.00 per year
