We are looking to expand our Maintenance department by adding additional Maintenance Technicians to the team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. You will provide assistance to the maintenance team, performing various tasks that contribute to the overall upkeep and functionality of our organisation. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance support.

What you’ll be doing as our Maintenance Technician:

  • Assist the maintenance team in performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections of equipment and facilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises, identifying maintenance needs, and reporting them to the appropriate personnel
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders promptly, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact on operations
  • Perform basic repairs and troubleshooting tasks, including, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and time spent, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other designated tools
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to maintenance support
  • Work within 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard
  • Comply with all H&S procedures, legislation and company policies
  • Working alongside Contractors as and when required

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Maintenance Technician:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance support role or similar position
  • Solid understanding of basic maintenance principles and practices
  • Proficiency in performing basic repairs and troubleshooting tasks across multiple trades, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical
  • Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar maintenance tracking tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform tasks that may require manual labour
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Need to have:

  • Vocational or technical training in Mechanical or Electrical discipline
  • Transferrable skills to be able to work in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment
  • We will also consider candidates looking to complete a vocational qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline

Nice to have:

  • IPAF
  • Forklift License
  • Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Furnace/Oven maintenance experience
  • Experience working with vacuum systems/industrial gases
  • Welding experience

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 dependant on experience (including shift allowance and annualised hours)

Hours: Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm
