Our Maintenance team play a key role optimising manufacturing equipment availability and keeping production downtime to a minimum.

The products made at Ditton are at the forefront of sustainable ingredients that go into personal care, home care and crop care products. These products are critical, as Croda looks to lead the way in supporting our customers with “effect” chemicals and sustainable ingredients that will support the decarbonisation of global supply chains.

At Ditton, we have plants that operate across multi-batch, multi product manufacturing and downstream processing technologies.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. In this role, your main responsibilities will be to:

Comply with all legislative and Croda SHEQ requirements.
Solve problems to optimise manufacturing equipment availability.
Provide technical skills to effect repairs and maintain site assets.
Identify materials and equipment required to rectify faults and breakdowns.
Communicate, collaborate and work effectively with Croda staff, Contractors, and Visitors.
Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping in the workshop and workplace.

Ditton is looking at a Transformation Plan that will spend >£100M to 2030 as we:
Upgrade our Site Infrastructure
Replace and increase capacity with a new Biopolymers Plant,
Significant investment in R&D (new Technical Centre)
Expand and upgrade our capability in Biotech production
Decarbonise our operations with a target of net zero by 2030

Essentials:


  • 5 years site-based experience in chemical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotech industries
  • Engineering based apprenticeship / NVQ level 3 / and HNC or equivalent
  • Demonstrable SHEQ experience and commitment
  • Work consistently to high standards and have a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities to resolve issues
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative or in a Team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capability and desire to build strong, effective, working relationships at all levels

Desirables:


  • Experience of SAP or a similar CMMS system
  • Experience of planned maintenance
  • Experience with steam boiler operations
  • Experience of continuous improvement systems
