We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to be part of a multi-skilled team providing a property maintenance and improvement service to our Care Homes plus other areas of business.

What You’ll Do
  • Undertake all areas of carpentry and woodwork as required and expected of a skilled carpenter.
  • Undertake other trades, specifically but not restricted to
  • painting & decorating including all associated preparatory work
  • laying of carpets & vinyl floor coverings
  • ceramic wall tiling
  • domestic plumbing
  • Be responsible for ordering and obtaining materials necessary to carry out the required work, including managing stock levels in conjunction with your line manager
  • Use and care for powered and hand tools specific to carpentry and work advising your line manager on suitability and need for such tools
What You’ll Need
  • Carpentry / construction-related Apprenticeship or City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in relevant trade
  • 5 Years relevant experience
  • A full driving licence
  • Experience of working in a housing maintenance or property refurbishment environment.
  • Able to carefully plan works, with the assistance of other Property Team members, within an operational care home environment.
  • Knowledge of mobile working using IT systems and hand-held devices.
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity and promotes organisational values
