About Us:

Cambian Pengwern College is a 52-week placement provision, has a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 16 – 25 who have Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, including some challenging behaviours, to gain valuable life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their onward journey towards independence. The Head of College and the dedicated team recognise this success and want to offer this opportunity to a wider range of young people and adults as part the ongoing developments that are taking place across all areas of the college.

Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for a maintenance operative to support the College in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, facilities and assets to ensure they are maintained to a high standard, with a robust emphasis on Health and Safety compliance, and are developed to meet the needs of students, staff and visitors.

As a Maintenance Operative you will need to be friendly, enthusiastic, well organized, possess excellent buildings maintenance skills and enjoy working as part of a team. A willing and flexible attitude is essential, as the role involves managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To carry out all duties as instructed in a Safe, timely, professional and courteous manner

• To assist with cleaning or grounds tasks as instructed.

• To assist the Site maintenance manager in ensuring all monitoring is carried out as per Cambian group procedures

• To assist in maintaining the outside fabric of the building.

• To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others. This includes contributing to a safe and secure environment for students/staff/residents.

• To identify defects, and damage and promptly report these to the site maintenance manager.

• To maximise the security of the premises.

• To carry out, as and when required, any additional duties and responsibilities as are reasonably compatible with this job description and deemed appropriate by your employer in the interests of the company.

Cambian will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates.
