We welcome candidates who are new to the industry as well as experienced ones - what matters most to us is that you have a positive and engaging personality, you are self-motivated and enjoy the buzz and excitement of a busy hotel atmosphere.

We need an experienced Maintenance Manager with a good all-round skill set (general building and decorating works, electricals, plumbing repairs etc). This is a standalone, single person role reporting to the Hotel Manager. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for looking after the day to day needs of the hotel. The role is rewarding, but demanding, so we’re on the lookout for someone with energy and passion to tend to our building as if it was their own.

Some key things we will need from the successful candidate:

  • Be a hands-on and self-motivated manager who works well under pressure and is able to balance multiple and regularly changing priorities.
  • Be knowledgeable about hotel facilities management and have the confidence and sufficient experience to build up their own knowledge of our building and facilities, over time.
  • Be confident working with IT – we’re very ‘IT system based’ and it’s essential that you are familiar with common software (Outlook, Excel, Compliance etc) and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
  • Be customer and standards focused and always demand the best – whether that be from your own work or that of our contractors.
  • Have strong fire safety awareness and experience of completing daily, weekly and monthly proactive tests such as Fire Alarm tests, Emergency Lighting tests etc.
  • Have awareness of the preventative controls involved in managing the hotel’s water systems (Legionella etc.) and experience in completing the necessary maintenance and tests.
  • Know a reputable contractor for most jobs – we need someone with a good personal network.
  • Experience in managing and dealing with multiple contractors to ensure that the necessary works take place on time and to a high standard
  • Be familiar with basic health and safety requirements – we do things properly, every time.
  • Be well presented, personable and engaging, with a can-do attitude.
  • Communicate well with managers of all departments to help and support the operation.
  • Be organised, motivated and a key part of the hotel management team.
  • Be familiar with procurement and spend authorisation processes, and have an organised approach to the sourcing and scrutiny of contractor quotes.
