Job Description
  • Ensure all site maintenance work is carried out safely. Adopt safe working practices and comply with company and general Health and Safety rules.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of all site machinery and its impact on the substrates used by the site.
  • Ensure Maintenance Staff carry out their duties efficiently.
  • Manage, support and coach maintenance team, carryout regular 1-2-1s and manage performance as required.
  • Ensure Planned Maintenance is carried out in a timely and professional manner
  • Audit Planned Maintenance effectiveness.
  • Ensure all breakdowns recovery is completed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a system for Planned Maintenance on all production machinery.
  • Negotiate service agreements with external contractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain controls on department spending & spares.
  • Diagnose faults and assist with problem solving when required, including providing technical support.
  • Coordinate and support Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Design and manage site maintenance improvement projects.
  • Maintain in house Project Software.
  • Ensure all machine electrical drawings are maintained and up to date.
  • Ensure all documentation for new machinery is present and all current compliance legislative checks are carried out.
  • Liaise with Suppliers, contractors and other managers for replacement parts
  • Place Orders for Spares/replacement parts
  • Fulfil other duties as directed by the Site Director
  • Comply with all current policies and procedures, updating systems as required.
  • Any other duties as requested by Line Managers/ other Managers that are appropriate for your job role.

Qualifications
  • Competent Engineer with good attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Proven experience in an engineering management role.
  • Excellent engineering and organisational skills.
  • Flexible, challenges the norm and has a positive approach to change.
  • Driving license required.
