As aMaintenance Manageryou will enable Goole site to realise its maximum potential by:

  • Providing leadership for the Engineering department
  • Managing engineering improvements to the site’s processes and infrastructure to drive improvements in Production efficiencies
  • Set the site standards and be responsible for EHS
  • Manage the maintenance activities within budgeted expenditure limits through good planning and cost control
  • Develop and progress continuous improvement initiatives on the Goole site.

Core Responsibilities:

Engineering department:

  • Control and organisation of the maintenance personnel to ensure that the site receives the maximum maintenance resource to support its operation.
  • The management of engineering projects to ensure the safe selection, installation, commissioning, and operation of plant, machinery and equipment.
  • The management of the sites engineering budget, working within budgeted expenditure limits through good planning and cost control.
  • Pursue and demand high levels of workmanship and a zero-defect performance level as the only acceptable standard in all areas.
  • Preparing reports to meet the site and company requirements.
  • Engineering Continuous improvement:
  • Continuously drive improvement initiatives to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
  • Develop a world-class maintenance organisation at the Goole site by continually improving OEE of all production lines, addressing quality issues through technical solutions and improving the standards of maintenance workmanship.
  • Actively encourage all site personnel in participation in site CI Projects.

Safety of employees, visitors and the safe operation of plant and equipment:

  • The development, implementation and compliance with EHSQ policies, procedures and applicable legal requirements.
  • The management of the site as required ensuring the safe working of employees and visitors.
  • Be conversant with the requirements of the Emergency Response Manual and act as emergency team leader as required during accidents and/or incidents, ensuring that immediate issues are dealt with and reporting requirements are achieved.
  • Actively encourage all site personnel in participation in all site EHS involvement programmes.

People management:

  • The development of the skills and knowledge of the maintenance team to meet the site and company requirements.
  • The management of external relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure that they are fully conversant with the standards required when working for the company.

Qualified candidates will have:

Mandatory requirements:

Solid experience in:

  • Engineering management experience in a food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals or similar
  • Knowledge of food standards e.g. HACCP (or similar / equivalent) and ISO
  • People management experience in a manufacturing site
  • Continuous improvement and change management experience
  • Implementation of maintenance best practices
  • Understanding of safe working procedures i.e. ATEX DSEAR
  • Understanding of PLCs and instrumentation
  • Knowledge in SAP and other IT systems

Education:

  • Relevant qualification in mechanical or instrument electrical skills required
  • EHS background (IOSH / NEBOSH certificate)

Desired requirements:

  • Food industry knowledge (esp. food standards e.g. HACCP)
