We are looking for a maintenance engineer to join our busy maintenance team at our Chichester Packhouses and office. The successful candidate will be responsible for lookign after all our manufacturing plant, equipment and facilities ensuring all is in good working order at all times.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs to all types of plant, equipment and building fabrications in a safe, timely and professional manner.
  • Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required.
  • Operate maintenance Forklift Truck and Elevated Working Platform as required. (Training given)
  • Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
  • Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults and concerns to management.
  • Record jobs, and complete job tickets on the maintenance recording software itom.
  • Plan / prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Manufacture spare parts as required (Simple Bracketry, Gaskets etc…)
  • Typical example of work would be to respond to maintenance request for equipment fault, diagnose fault repair and return equipment to operational service. All work to be carried out operating in a safe and efficient manner. (A process of dynamic risk assessment is operated).
  • Identify spares requirements and control / log usage.
  • Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.

  • Equipment OEE, MTBF and MTTR
  • Standard of work
  • Reports clear concise and up to date
  • Time keeping
  • All internal paperwork completed (QM manual for audit purposes)
  • Clean & tidy as you go policy
  • Work completed

  • To co-operate readily, politely and amicably with other Company personnel
  • To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested.

Knowledge & Skills: (Desirable but not all essential for the right candidate)

  • Apprentice trained preferable
  • Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings to a basic knowledge
  • Ability to logically fault find
  • Experience of inverter, servo, DC drives
  • Worked with circuits from 415 to 24VDC power & control
  • Understanding of pneumatics
  • Read mechanical drawings
  • Experience with conveyors
  • Experience or knowledge with chain, sprocket, belt driven machinery
  • Experience of fan applications
  • Worked with high-speed rotating machinery
  • Fabrication experience
