We are currently looking for a new Maintenance Engineer (Days) to join our busy onsite Engineering Team.This position is on a 4 days on 4 days off roster - 6am - 6pm.
The purpose of this position is to work within a team to provide an Engineering service which ensures the department KPI target of 98% production machinery availability is achieved through planned, preventative and reactive maintenance. To assist by Engineering contribution to the continued growth and development of the site and business.
Who are you?
Experience
- Previous experience of working in a FMG chilled environment
- Technical understanding of single and 3phase electrical systems and Pneumatic systems
- Experience of Cooking and Chilling process and associated equipment
- Experience of Tray sealing and Packaging equipment
- Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
- Mechanical and electrical certificate (NVQ3 or equivalent)
- Multi- skilled - preferably Electrical or Gas bias
- Food production engineering experience
- Good Communicator.

- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to world class standards
- Look at ways to reduce reactive maintenance
- Work with production to plan windows for maintenance requirements
- Ensure all Engineering procedures are adhered to, and all work carried out to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Take ownership of specific areas within the factory creating and completing Improvement projects within them.
- Plan required contract work and then supervise and authorise permits for associated contractors
PRODUCTION SUPPORT
- Work closely with the Production team to ensure Operational delivery.
- Minimize time reaction to machinery breakdown.
- Improve machinery efficiency by Improvement Projects
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards maintenance solutions.
- Proactively promote correct use of equipment.
- Maintain a safe clean working environment for all people on site at all times.
- Encourage a health and safety culture by leading by example
- Effective communication through formal and informal dealings with operational staff.

- To participate in meetings/trials where engineering input is required.
- Ensure all work is carried out in a documented and controlled manner in line with the company’s technical procedures
- Work closely with the Technical team on the site fabrication requirements
- Proactively look to improve engineering functions to reduce food safety risk.
- Assist and support the NFD team with trials and equipment solutions where necessary.
