Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled engineering staff
To become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of engineering tasks
Fitting and assembly skills including the use of hand tools
Welding, fabrication, brazing, soldering and other jointing processes. Sheet metalwork including shearing, folding etc
Measurement and inspection techniques using a variety of metrology equipment
Attendance at training course leading to recognised qualifications over the period of the qualification
Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the engineering team that require the levels of performance and competence of an engineer
1 of the vacancies will have an Electrical Maintenance bias working alongside the Maintenance Team, with the other 2 vacancies being more multiskilled (elec/mech) working alongside theProduction Engineering Team
Measurable Outcomes:
To complete a programme of training to be conducted within the Factory’s Engineering team
To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department
To learn how to maintain workshop equipment and to keep it in good repair
To develop the skills required to undertake jointing tasks
To ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard and compliance
To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with the effective development of the post and post holder
To carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with Froneri’s Health and Safety Policy and relevant Health and Safety legislation
To learn and gain the required engineering skills
To apply skills in the working environment
Achieving given targets
Getting familiarity with machines, lines, services etc
Contribute practically on the reactive and proactive maintenance
Contribute practically on the ongoing projects if required
Travel to other sites in the UK
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
Demonstrable interest in an engineering discipline
To be I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft “Word”, “Excel” or equivalent software
Ability to work efficiently and accurately
Highly motivated
Aptitude for practical science or engineering skills
Personal qualities
The ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills
To work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines
To be able to prioritise workload and work under your own initiative
High level of flexibility and dependability
Desired qualifications
Essential ‐ A minimum of 4 GCSE’s, or equivalent, at Grade 4 – 9 (A* to C) including English, Maths and a science related subject
Desirable ‐ A minimum of 2 “A” levels, or equivalent, in an engineering or science related subject
