My client manufactures recycling industrial Baler machines for a wide range of clients. This established family engineering firm are looking to recruit a CNC Machinist to join their growing company. This is a full-time, permanent position with a basic week of 40 hours (Monday - Friday). Occasionally may be required to work additional hours if required. Appropriate equipment, including PPE will be provided to the successful candidate.

The main job of the CNC Machinist will be to:
  • Work in machine shop producing and assembling components and products from drawings provided for customers and production.
  • Operate and control various manual machines (lathes, mills & horizontal boring machines)
  • Assist in running of CNC machines when required.

    Machinist Duties and Responsibilities

    Ensure all work is completed on time and produced to a recognised or given tolerance, and to drawings provided.
  • Responsible for quality control of products manufactured.
  • Assist in the flow of work through the machine shop to allow production to meet deadlines.
  • Operate all equipment correctly and safely, following all working procedures.
  • Book all equipment and consumables in and out of stores.
  • Fill in all appropriate documentation correctly (i.e. job cards, requisitions, timesheets etc.).
  • Report any defects in manufactured goods, consumables, or tools so they can be rectified promptly.
  • Ensure all workstations and areas are kept clean and free from items which may cause health and safety risks to individuals and work colleagues.

    CNC Key Skills Required
  • CNC Machine experience
  • Ability to communicate and work with others as well as working on own
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Respond flexibly to change.
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Clean full driving licence
  • Good understanding of manual handling practices

    Benefits £23k + overtime 40 hour week, 08:00-16:30 Monday-Friday Overtime for any additional hours Double time Sundays This role is usually working Monday to Friday
