Prefix Systems, an award winning business, one of the largest independent off-site constructed roof fabricators, offering a wide range of conservatory, home living and glazing solutions to suit almost any application is looking for a Machinist to join an established team at its Blackburn site.

To be successful in this role you must display strong attention to detail and quality, as well as excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. You must also be able to work well with people and demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.

The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years machining experience working in a manufacturing/engineering environment.

Your Duties include:

• Reading and understanding working drawings as part of the production process
• Operation of various types of machinery, both semi-automated and manual saws, CNC, and air tools
• Cutting, milling, and drilling of aluminium, timber, and PVC components
• Accurate completion of associated paperwork and record keeping
• Ensure smooth and efficient throughput
• Daily cleaning and light maintenance of machinery area
• Carry out periodic audit and quality control checks
• Liaising with other internal departments for duties such as stock control, production, and despatch
• Adhere to health and safety procedures within the working environment

• Any other duties as and when required or subject to changes of the job role

Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.00 am - 4.00 pm and Friday 7.00 am until 3.00 pm. From time to time you will be required to be flexible with your working hours to accommodate production and delivery demands. Overtime at an enhanced hourly rate may also be available and required during times of high demand.
