Machine Shop CNC Programmer

R.E.M. are a successful specialist manufacturing company largely operating in the SPA and barbers industry. The company was established over 100 years ago and specializes in designing and manufacturing luxury products for across the UK and export markets.

Job Brief

We have an exciting role in our machine shop department with a small team of skilled and highly motivated team. You will work mainly on programming our CNC nesting cell using the Magi-cut software provided. Producing batch work mainly using materials such as MDF and MFC boards, but including laminates and plastics.

Role Purpose

The core duties of this role are as follows:

  • Program and nesting of standard products to our Vantage/BHC 350 CNC nesting cells
  • Learning and gathering a knowledge of our expansive products book
  • Converting of bespoke products provided by our design team
  • Provide first line support to the section to troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
  • Able and willing to provide support on the shop floor if required
  • Ensure the section is clean and that all safety equipment is in place and working

Requirements

The successful candidate will be friendly, supportive, focused and committed to continuous improvement. They will have the following skills and experience:

  • A knowledge of CNC nesting cells
  • Previous experience in cabinet software, ideally Magi-cut/CAD/Woodwop
  • Organized and excellent communicator
  • A competent knowledge of Excel
  • Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems
  • Excellent quality control
  • Willing and able to multi task and learn new skills
  • Work well as part of a small but highly skilled and driven team
  • Show excellent time keeping skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £13.50-£16.00 per hour
