Mon-Fri, 48 hours per week

Salary: Up to £42,600 depending upon skills

As part of our investment in both our growth and our people, we have a new opportunity for a Logistics Team Leaderto support our Site Logistics Manager with the day-to-day running of our Falkirk Logistics site.

So what’s the mission?
Your mission is to ensure that our transport fleet is compliant with the latest transport legislation and that our colleagues work in a safe and legally compliant manner whilst assisting SLM in the day-to-day running of all logistics activities. You’ll ensure the site is able to provide an outstanding service to our customers, inclusive of transport, yard, and stock management whilst driving best practice and efficiency in vehicle availability and utilisation.

You will lead a team of professional drivers delivering Marshalls products on our in-house fleet of specialist mechanical offload vehicles. Previous people management experience is essential, as you will be conducting regular 121s, absence, timekeeping, and training and discipline management.

You’ll support the SLM with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment standards in line with Marshalls policies, and procedures and be the go-to person for all audit purposes at the site whilst ensuring you promote and embed these into your team’s culture and put H&S at the heart of everything you do!

A National CPC is required along with relevant transport qualifications, as you’ll be maintaining full compliance in accordance with O licence requirements, fulfilling all legal obligations for the Company.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • People management experience in a fast-paced and high-volume transport environment
  • Hold a National CPC is essential and it’s an advantage to have been named on the relevant O Licence
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation within the transport sector
  • A good understanding of the driver’s hours & working time directive legislation
  • Experience in controlling the servicing schedules for a fleet of vehicles
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to confidently present to a team of people
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence


Desirable

  • HGV 1 licence
  • ALLMI-accredited crane licence
  • Brick grab experience & drawbar work
