Adept Engineering is working with a pioneering steel stockholder based in Sheffield, who are currently seeking an experienced Logistics Team Leader to join their growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone to join a well-known stockholder, who will be a vital member of the team and help push the business forward.

The Role:

  • Managing daily despatches and correct documentation in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate rates with incumbent suppliers and continually try to engage with alternative logistic solutions.
  • Building and maintaining a professional relationship with new and existing carriers.
  • Mentor and train reporting staff to ensure full coverage for the department.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.
  • Ensure all duties and taxes are correct and in accordance with the shipment.
  • Schedule and track inbound and outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure materials are delivered to sites in a timely manner as per clients’ criteria.
  • Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs.
  • Bringing leadership qualities with excellent influencing and communication skills.
  • To be Organised, Passionate, Detail Orientated with the ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Working Knowledge of Tariff Codes and Incoterms and applicable duties.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and refer clients to the appropriate channels.
  • Delivering and embedding continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Proactive and Responsive.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Customer Service focussed.
  • Proven ability working to tight deadlines within logistics.
  • To be proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • ITOPS Qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong Logistics experience, preferably within a steel stockholding environment.
