Logistics Stock Controller

We are recruiting on behalf of a client of ours, for a temporary Logistics Stock Controller, to work at the client location in Magor.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting directly to the Asset Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring all inventory and stock management systems are maintained accurately, within the agreed parameters and in a timely manner.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete all necessary stock takes
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements including food hygiene
  • Maintain all departmental and company KPI’s including supply chair losses
  • Carry out any reasonable tasks as directed
  • Ensure 5S standards are maintained and adhered to
  • Maintain a good working relationship with manager and peers
  • Comply with all aspects of the clients standard ways of working, updating training materials as required
  • Responsible for making sure the stock levels in the warehouse are accurate and reflected in the system, to ensure service level is not affected
  • Responsible for destruction of stock and ensuring that it is destroyed in a timely manner and in accordance with HMRC rules and guidelines
  • Has the ability to guide people of lesser experience to the correct path to take when it comes to discrepancies
  • Interrogate the systems, looking at discrepancies and customer queries and corrects as necessary
  • Keeps a level of trace-ability in line with quality expectations
  • Liaises with internal/ external customers to resolve issues and monitors SLA’s
  • Responsible for inventory levels in third part logistic providers as required

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies

  • Minimum GCSE Maths and English
  • Computer literate (Excel, Word)
  • Additional Logistics qualifications would be advantageous Experience
  • Experience in an FMCG Logistics environment
  • Good mathematical background
  • IT literate
  • Proven ability to learn
  • Effective team player
  • Good communicator
  • Self-starter, with energy and drive
  • Experience in a team working operation.
  • WMS & SAP Experience preferred
  • Experience of stock management advantageous Technical Competencies
  • The ability to understand the stock control environment and how it works
  • The ability to analyse and prioritise daily workloads; strong organisation skills
  • The ability to communicate ideas and work with minimal leadership to a high standard
  • The resilience to continuously drive for superior results
  • The ability to lead by example
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong influencer, able to challenge management and staff where appropriate
  • Highly results focused, and with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent team player, able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and peers
