Location: MTU Headquarters, Inospace LIghtyear Building, Glasgow Airport Business Park, Paisley.

Fixed Term until end Mar 2022 (estimated – may be requirement to end early should requirements for COVID testing be reviewed and decreased)

The Scottish Ambulance Service Mobile Testing COVID Testing Team (MTU) is seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable individual to undertake the Logistics Operative role based within the MTU Headquarters.

The successful applicant will report to the Fleet & Logistics Manager and will have responsibility for the effective day to day operation of the MTU central logistics function. The role will include receiving, checking, and receipting orders of uniform, PPE, consumables, and equipment as well as preparing items for distribution to operational teams. There will be a requirement on occasion to deliver or collect and as such a current UK driving licence is essential for this role.

The role will include being the point of contact for all operational personnel, liaising with Managers and Team Leaders to ensure that logistical issues are dealt with in a timely fashion. Departments within and out with the Service.

The successful applicant is required to demonstrate previous experience in a logistics or stock control-based environment. Also required is confidence and competence in the use of IT, the ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate a logical and methodical approach to problem solving, along with accuracy and attention to detail. The successful applicant will also be required to trained in, and become proficient in the Scottish Ambulance Service electronic procurement system

Successful applicants will be required to work a 4 on and 4 off rota and on occasion may be required to undertake MTU regional logistics duties. Full training will be provided.
