Our client in Nuneaton is looking for a Local taxation officer.

All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.

Job Role: To process amendments including but not limited to change of occupation, entitlement to reliefs, banding or rateable value, direct debits and changes to payment methods.

To deal with all enquiries from members of the public, business and other agencies.

To process refunds of overpaid Council tax.

To undertake tracing work to locate absconders and where appropriate, prepare cases for write off where the debtor cannot be traced.

Also to assist in the detection and prevention of fraudulent applications.

Make referrals to visiting officers for void cases, exemptions and discounts as necessary.

Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience of working in a local taxation or debt collection environment.

Ability to compose non standard letters.

Knowledge of billing systems.

Experience of working to tight deadlines.

Hours/Pay: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm £11.96
