About The RoleJob Title:Live Harvesting SupervisorLocation:PerthSalary:£30,272 to £35,194 (depending on skills and experience) plus additional skills allowance.Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per weekOur RoleAn opportunity has arisen for a self motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Live Line Harvesting team based in Perth.Working as part of a team your main responsibilities will include direct on-site supervision of Live Line Harvesting operations throughout Scotland.Additionally, you will be responsible for site assessment, completion of risk assessments and all necessary associated paperwork.Key Accountabilities Of The Role
  • Ensure compliance with FISA Guidance, Forest and Water Guidelines and relevant environmental requirements and when working “Live Line” ensure compliance with ENA G96
  • Act as site safety coordinator as necessary when carrying out work on an active 3rd party site.
  • Carry out site surveys and confirm time requirement and additional resource requirement for programming.
  • Ensure machine servicing and daily checks are arranged and carried out as per manufacturers service shedule, ensuring minimal disruption to programme and reporting defects immediately.
  • Communicate clearly and actively build strong relationships with colleagues (due to nature of the work this is absolutely essential).
What do I need?To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
  • Experience of supervising mechanised harvesting or similar works.
  • Additionally, you will have experience of commercial chainsaw work and climbing will be of benefit.
  • You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the HV and LV overhead network.
  • You’ll be a great team worker and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • As part of this role you will use your good leadership, organisational, diagnostic and problem solving skills and will be able to work accurately and independently holding a high regard for safety, of both yourself and your surroundings at all times is imperative.
Key Accountabilities Of The Role
  • Active management of a tree cutting programme to deliver required outputs, production reporting in a timely and accurate manner including providing realistic forecasts
  • Maintain a safe working environment through site visits, safety briefings and incident investigation providing an open and inclusive safety culture within the team
  • Effective management of an annual budget ensuring all work is completed within cost parameters
  • Provide mentoring and support to lesser skilled members of the team whilst actively contributing during team meetings / group calls covering safety, production etc.
  • Identifying and implementing areas of improvement with particular focus on efficiency whilst providing a high level of customer service
