Live - in PA /Carer / Support worker / Personal care / Graduate / Driver for uni student -Southampton Solent / Bristol

Hours - approx.: Live in – 7 days on / 7 days off

Start Date: ASAP

Pay rate: £160 per day

Our client is in his first year studying Post Production for Film & Television at Southampton Solent University.

Our client has Friedreich’s Ataxia, which mainly affects his balance and mobility but also makes it difficult for him to do day to day tasks.

He will require your help with everyday tasks such as Personal care, dressing, cooking food, cleaning, general & academic support. He is able to walk short distances but will use a large pavement scooter to travel longer distances. He also has a manual wheelchair for less accessible areas.

He also would like his PA to support him with organising his schedule and supporting his personal fitness plan (Supporting him with his exercises and accompanying him to the gym)

He is looking for a PA who can assist him with his university experience, supporting him to attend events, socialising with his friends and supporting him to lead an independent life!

Prior care experience is not required, all training will be provided but some experience is preferred.

About You

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client’s care therefore full training in his particular needs is provided. An ideal applicant’s requirements are:

-You will need to be physically fit, calm, patient and caring

-Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

-Have the ability to commit to shifts (days, nights, weekends etc) Must be Flexible

-Fluent in the English Language

-Enjoy Social events, work and University

-Can carry out domestic tasks such as cleaning, ironing, washing and Cook ·Reliable and trustworthy

-Provide ‘on call’ cover for absent colleague

-Non-Smoker

-You must be able to respect our client’s privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.

-Good organisational skills and being able to work on your own initiative

-Have a good sense of humour

-A mature and responsible attitude

-Excellent hearing and communication skills

-Be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.

-Be fully vaccinated
