Self Employed Vs Employed

I had been a self-employed Live in Care Assistant for many years. I love spending my day providing care to an older adult in their own homes. I am certain this will always be the career for me, but at the end of my last contract, I did not have anywhere to go next. I felt unstable and I panicked that I would not be able to pay my bills.

Frantically searching online, I found this employer! Not only do they have an outstanding reputation for companionship led care, but they were looking for Live in Carers. They understood that I needed security and stability and wanted me to do the same job I loved! I was offered -

  • £100 per day.
  • Food Allowance.
  • Contribution towards my travel expenses.
  • Paid Annual Leave.
  • Sick & Maternity Pay.
  • Regular Working Patterns (2-3 Weeks on, 1-2 WeekS off).
I felt relieved! Lately, times have been so uncertain, it feels like a weight has been lifted knowing I will be supported. Even when my contract comes to an end, I will still be able to continue working for the same company. With so many franchises in the UK, I can go anywhere! I am so glad I made the change from self-employed to an employed Live in Care Assistant.
