We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing person to join our team at Westbury Library working 17 hours per week to help provide a high-quality service to our customers.

About The Role

As Library Assistant you will help customers with queries, help them to find books and information and support them with basic IT for those using library computers and other library equipment.

You will take part in children’s activities such as ’rhyme time’ and events/activities for adults, help with shelving, recommending reading choices, tidying the library, answering the phone and many more tasks are part of this role.

No two days will be the same and you’ll need to be ready to deal with the unexpected!

Work Pattern For This Role Is

Week 1: Monday 4pm - 7pm, Thursday 9.30am - 5pm and Friday 10am - 5pm.

Week 2: Monday 4pm - 7pm, Thursday 9.30am - 5pm, Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturday 9am - 12noon.

About You

We will look to you to possess at least five GCSEs, including English at grade A-C or equivalent. Previous library experience is not essential as we will train you in all aspects of library work.

Excellent customer service skills or the ability to demonstrate you can provide them is essential as is a love of books.

Interviews will be held in the library on Thursday 9th February 2023.

Where possible interviews are virtual, but due to the nature of this role interviews will be in person. Current public health advice is followed for candidate and employee safety.
