Libraries are at the heart of our communities, providing a safe space where minds are nourished, and individuals valued. This post is an exciting opportunity to join the Renfrewshire Libraries team and make a difference to people in Renfrewshire.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled arts coordinator to lead on a project within Renfrewshire’s public libraries. The project aims to alleviate social isolation and loneliness in our communities and to promote positive mental health and wellbeing through engagement in social and cultural activity in libraries. We aim to encourage people out of their homes and into libraries to take part in activities which will provide social connections and mental stimulation in a welcoming and enjoyable environment.

The successful candidate will be experienced in organising and delivering arts-based community activities for adults and will understand how artistic and cultural activity can support wellbeing. You will be responsible for developing and coordinating a varied timetable of fun participatory activities in libraries, supervising an Artist in Residence programme, reaching out and making contact with community groups and partners, engaging with audiences, and evaluating the impact of the activities.

This post is a new post funded by an award from the Scottish Government’s Covid Relief Fund for Public Libraries. Working hours are 18 hours per week, with flexibility on working days and times.
