LEV Testing & Mechanical Service Engineer

Our client provides clean air solutions, including dust, fume, mist, spray and oil extraction, to a range of industries (food production, construction, manufacturing, pharmaceutical etc.) across the UK and Ireland. As well as LEV testing, they perform mechanical service inspections, workplace air monitoring and site surveys, and provide spares and new installations.   • Permanent, Full-time – 07.00-16.30 (standard, flexible working is required)- occasional hotel stays.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Client is looking to appoint a P601 qualified LEV Testing Engineer. The engineer’s duties are to carry out testing of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems until. Based in Stafford but travelling throughout the UK in company vehicles, with some overnight stays, weekend work, overtime, and occasional night shifts to meet the needs of each specific customer contract. Good rate of pay for Overtime!

Duties and responsibilities

  • LEV engineer to attend their customer sites, and TExT (thorough examination and test).
  • Carrying out filter changes on dust collectors e.g., food factory dust collectors, silos, weld extractors and shot blast units
  • Surveying and undertaking remedial works on customer sites to ensure efficient system performance with colleagues.
  • Assist in the surveying and installation of air socks within manufacturing environments.
  • Collating, and producing technical reports with engineers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of testing LEVs and hold as a minimum a P601 qualification.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of COSHH regulations, HSG258 and engineering practices.
  • Strong engineering mindset along with engineering qualifications to reaffirm.
  • IPAF, Confined Space & PASMA qualifications are desired but not essential.
  • A good level of physical fitness is required.

Remuneration

Package Circa £42,000. Dependant on Experience

Good Overtime rates 3which are : OT1 weekdays - time and a half, OT2 weekends - double time

Lunch allowance everyday, Uniform and Van / Tools etc.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

The successful candidate will ideally be encouraged towards gaining further BOHS approved qualifications (e.g.P602, P604).
