Job Description
The role of Legal Counsel (Commercial & Property) will take on the following responsibilities:
Managing all UK real estate legal aspects as lead-counsel.- Managing property transactions (primarily leasehold acquisitions for new stores) - either working on them directly in collaboration with other teams or instructing external real estate lawyers where necessary.
- Reviewing and approving heads of terms with the property team.
- Submitting SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.
- Dealing with other lease/property related contracts including deeds of variation, side letters, break notices, licences to occupy, licences to alter etc.
- Project management through the life-cycle of a property transaction, including legal project feasibility studies, guaranteeing that internal validation processes are followed by the relevant stakeholders etc.
The Successful Applicant
Suitable candidates for the role of Legal Counsel (Commercial & Property) will have the following qualifications / experience:
A qualified Solicitor in the UK or other relevant jurisdiction.- A minimum of 2 years experience in handling a wide range of Commercial Property work.
- Experience in Landlord and Tenant is essential.
- Experience of operating in an in-house environment would be highly beneficial.
