We’re here to create and harness knowledge, to deliver opportunity for everyone.

About The Role

As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Strength and Conditioning/Applied Sports Science, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our modules on Sports and Exercise Science, including supervision of undergraduate dissertations and possibly MSc/MRes and PhD theses depending on your expertise and qualifications. You will also be expected to contribute to other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience.

You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department through the activities of one of our Research Units, and to meet the requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework (REF 2028).

For informal enquiries, you may wish to contact: Professor Lars McNaughton, at lars.mcnaughton@edgehill.ac.uk

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. You should be an experienced and effective academic and practitioner with an appreciation and understanding of the competencies defined by BASES who endorse out program. You may also be cognisant of other organisations such as UKSCA and NSCA and may hold one of these qualifications.

We embed the applied sports science principles within and across our programmes, and thus experienced academics and/or practitioners from the applied sports sciences are a good fit. An established research profile aligned specifically to research in some area of sports is advantageous, however, if required, research mentorship will be provided to enable your contribution to the sports and exercise science team. An interest in disseminating research that complements the existing research strands within Department’s research groups is essential.

If successful, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team with a growing student body, in the Sports and Exercise Science field.
