The successful applicant would be expected to start in January 2024.The Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences. The Department of Politics, International Relations, and Philosophy is a research-intensive unit ranked second in the country by the Times Higher Education following the publication of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 results. The Department provides a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes to a student body that is majority Black and Global Majority. We carry out research across different sub-disciplines, but we place special emphasis on our research centres and clusters: the New Political Communication Unit, the Contemporary Political Theory Research Group, the Centre for International Security, the Democracy and Elections Centre, the Centre for Islamic and West Asian Studies, the Global Politics and Development Centre, the Centre for Continental Philosophy, the Centre for the Study and Application of Stoicism, and the (college-wide) Gender Institute.This post is in part cover for an existing member of staff. The successful candidate will convene and deliver modules on our postgraduate programmes.
