CEMAST is looking to recruit an outstanding Lecturer in Engineering who is an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated individual capable of supporting delivery of engineering qualifications across the curriculum range up to level 4.

You will be expected to be able to teach theoretical and practical sessions defined by the course specification covering general engineering principles. The successful candidate will be passionate and be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the engineering industry whilst having the ambition of passing on their knowledge and experience to the future generation of engineers.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required
  • You will be a well organised and flexible individual, able to effectively manage your own time and resources, with excellent communication skills and the ability to covey industry standard information and ideas in a clear, concise and engaging manner.
  • You will need to hold a Level 4 Engineering qualification.
  • Ideally in addition to holding a suitable teaching qualification you will be educated to degree level, or have served a formal engineering apprenticeship with relevant experience.
  • You should also have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to engage and inspire young people aged 16-19.

Experience in teaching and learning would be advantageous, the role can be an entry into teaching meaning no previous experience of teaching necessary. Having the confidence and willingness to do so however, must come from within the applicant. Fareham College will offer teacher training to those wishing to enter the teaching profession.
