Important: This postion is currenlty advertised at 28 hours, but shall be reviewed in September 2023, with a potential increase to 35 hours per week (Full-Time).

We are currently looking for a Lecturer, to teach Law at the City of Portsmouth College (COPC). This role will be based at our Sixth-Form Campus, but travel may be required between campuses based in Portsmouth on occasions.

Do you have Industry experience in Law, but haven’t taught before? Not to worry! COPC will support you in attaining teaching qualifications on the job, provided entirely by us!


Main Duties & Responsibilities of a Lecturer:

  • To teach the college programme to students daily and provide high quality learning opportunities to them.
  • To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student retention, achievement, and success.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of high quality, relevant curriculum, and programmes. Curriculum Development responsibilities include actively contributing to the development of new programmes and producing annual schemes of work.
  • Plan and deliver effective learning programmes for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Identify and address Mathematics and English needs of learners and work creatively to overcome individual barriers to learning.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality standards set by the College and/or Awarding Bodies.
