College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies /Farm animal, Public Health and Food Security Unit.

Open-Ended Contract - Permanent; Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.

The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is looking for an enthusiastic veterinarian to join our Farm Animal, Public Health and Food Security team as a Lecturer in Farm to Fork Integration. The successful candidate will play an active role in contributing to the Farm Animal and Veterinary Public Health (VPH) learning and teaching activities across Years 1 & 4 and 5 of the BVM&S programme, specifically focusing on pig medicine, state veterinary medicine, and food safety. In addition, there will be a substantial contribution to final year curriculum and assessment development, teaching administration and student support through the role of “BVM&S Final Year Co-Director”. The successful candidate will be expected to have an understanding of livestock production (farm-to-fork) and will be able to contextualise farm animal medicine (in particular pig medicine), state veterinary medicine, and food safety content in a One Health context. The appointee will also be expected to deliver face-to-face lectures, tutorials and practical classes at the Easter Bush Veterinary Campus, and to accompany veterinary students to structured abattoir visits.
