Part Time 0.6 Permanent Contract (both F2F teaching on campus and online)

Are you an experienced Lecturer in Art Design and Media, looking for a part time contract within a dynamic organisation where you can be proud and feel rewarded for contributing to student success? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to establish a new QAHE Pathway College embedded into the campus at Northumbria University. The Pathway is focused on delivering a high quality student experience to achieve academic success, to realise this aim we a seeking a passionate business lecturer to join us.
A little more about the role: As lecturer, you will contribute to the teaching (both online and F2F) of Art, Design and Media subjects at level 3. In addition, you will module leader and will guide and support international students to develop knowledge and academic skills required to successfully progress into the university. Experience required:
Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history,
Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art
Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting
Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, monoprinting
Understand a variety of “masters” techniques
Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art
Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique
Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities
Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment
Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records
Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community

What you’ll get up to:
Plan, prepare and deliver learning across the programmes delivered at the Pathway College. Provide academic and pastoral support to students, responding promptly to all queries and being available during work hours.
Complete an administration required including registers, student feedback, progress monitoring, sponsor reports, etc.
What you’ll bring to the team: Please see the attached job descriptions for our Lecturer role. Minimum qualification BA in Fine Art (or closely related subject area). Demonstrated excellence in a variety of art techniques.
Ideally you will have worked with international students at level 3 however a strong interest in the development and transition of learners into level 4.
A little more about us: QA Higher Education works in partnership with Northumbria University to manage and deliver and International Foundation Programmes (IFP). Successful completion of the IFP programmes allows entry onto a range of undergraduate programmes at the University.
