We are looking for an Agriculture specialist to join the SMB Group and be part of our journey to become a Lecturer at a leading Landbased provider.

Using your specialist knowledge and experience you can try a career which incorporates the practical elements of agriculture and educates the future farmers of country. The role will incorporate some onsite visits to our agricultural apprentices to carryout observations. The successful candidate will also teach the apprentices during their college training days on the college farm.

As an Agriculture Lecturer you will have the ability to deliver across the full range of the department’s provision. You may currently be working in an Agriculture setting looking for your first job in teaching. You will have a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment.

With an 850 acre countryside estate, including a mixed-use livestock and arable farm, our students get all the hands-on experience they need to build a success career in the industry.

Working as part of the Landbased team you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. You will possess an excellent knowledge and understanding of Agriculture and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.

As well as your relevant experience and current knowledge, you will also be willing to obtain a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.

Exciting HE courses in this area are coming in the future and there is the potential for the successful candidate to teach on these, if they hold the relevant qualifications.
