Inspire our future farmers by joining the Myerscough Agriculture Teaching Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Agricultural and Countryside Team as a Lecturer in Agriculture for Higher Education. The posts may be flexible part time roles for the right candidate/s.

As a Lecturer in Agriculture you will deliver agriculture and countryside subjects to students on courses in predominately Higher Education (Foundation Degree and Honours Degree) programmes including Agricultural Crop Production and be responsible for the day to day management and leadership of a designated Higher Education Agriculture course. As well as undertaking course management and personal tutor duties, as required, you will be supporting and participating in external industry events to enhance the learner experience.

There may be opportunities to engage in applied research on the College Farm which is 300 hectares and has a mix of grazing livestock and crops. There are strong links with industry and this role will allow you to further develop those links.

If you have not worked in education before but believe you have the skills to do so, and are willing to undertake teacher training to attain a recognised teaching qualification, we would be very keen to hear from you. This post may be supported by the Taking Teaching Further project, which provides enhanced support for candidates applying from industry, including mentoring and support with the costs of teaching qualifications.
