Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff scale point 6: £20,981 pro-rata

An opportunity has arisen to contribute to a successful and highly ambitious College whose aim is to be the best college in the country. Wyke is an established, popular Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and North Lincolnshire. The largest and most successful A-level provider in the area, we offer applicants the opportunity to work alongside committed colleagues who have enabled our students to achieve their very best. At Wyke, we put the student first and all decisions centre around staff working together to meet their best interests.

Working as part of the friendly and experienced Additional Learning Support team, we require highly motivated Learning Support Mentors, skilled at supporting young people with their studies. The roles involve working with students on an individual or small group basis.

The successful candidates will be able to support students to maximise progress on Level 3 programs of study, and also those taking GCSE qualifications in English and Maths. Ideally, candidates will have experience of supporting students for whom English is not their first language. Previous experience working with young people is essential, as is being educated to Level 3 (A-level or equivalent).

We offer a welcoming college with supportive management and a commitment to staff development as well as a modern environment and high standards of student behaviour. Members of staff are initially paid for 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and have access to a defined benefit pension scheme (LGPS).

The College takes safeguarding extremely seriously and a full range of pre-employment checks including a satisfactory enhanced DBS with barred list check will be required for this post.

For further details and an application form please see below or visit www.wyke.ac.uk/about-wyke/staff-vacancies. If you have any queries about applying for the role or require paper copies of the information please contact the college by calling 01482 346347. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE MUST RECIEVE A COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM BEFORE WE CAN CONSIDER YOU FOR THIS ROLE.

The closing date for received applications is 9am on Tuesday 19th September 2023.
