£15,000 - £20,000 Permanent

We are supporting a local Special Needs School in Hindhead to find enthusiastic Special Needs assistants to support pupils with a variety of needs.

Starfyn Education currently have a range of exciting full-time positions starting in September. These positions are across all Key Stages and include 1:1 support and whole class support roles.

Your Main Duties Will Include
  • inspiring and engaging with young adults with a range of additional learning needs
  • working on a 1:1 to or group basis to support learning
  • preparing materials, equipment and lessons
  • assisting with the personal care needs of pupils; this may include feeding, changing and manual handling
  • liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and Healthcare professionals
The Following Skills And Qualifications Are Desired
  • experience within Autism (ASD) and/or Severe Learning Disabilites (SLD)
  • PECs and Makaton experience
  • trained in TEACCH, Team Teach/MAPA
  • strong communication skills with pupils and staff
  • First Aid trained
  • ability to use own initiative where necessary
