This is a part-time role, 22.5 hours a week (3 days a week)

Travelodge is a great place to work. We’re all proud of our strong growth, vision, ambition and team. We understand that the heart of our success comes from our people. We work very hard to ensure Travelodge is a friendly, fun, challenging, progressive and supportive place to be.

You’ll be part of our Talent team that are building the capability of our colleagues by identifying, designing and delivering inspirational products that develop the capability of our colleagues and build further on our reputation of being a ‘great place to work’.

The job in a nutshell:

As a Learning & Development Advisor you’ll support the Management Development Lead to ensure our support centre colleagues (below management level) have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to thrive in their roles to deliver our Better Travelodge strategy. This is a varied role where you’ll be able to work with different stakeholders, ensuring our colleagues have the opportunity to develop within Travelodge delivering both bespoke and generic learning interventions.

This is a part time role working 22.5 hours per week, with some flexibility on days

What you’ll be doing:

  • Onboarding: Being the central point of contact for new starters in our head office, facilitating our monthly welcome event, and ensuring all new starters and their hiring manager have access to the relevant onboarding resources.

  • Early Careers: Manage our apprenticeship levy offering and levy funded programmes, providing advice to colleagues and maintaining relationships with external training partners and recommending improvements.

  • Learning interventions: Working with the Senior Learning & Development Manager and various stakeholders to scope learning needs and subsequently recommending, designing, delivering and evaluating learning interventions.

  • Deputise for the Senior Learning & Development Manager when required.

  • Facilitation: Deliver training and development in a range of formats at management level (both in person and virtually) for both individuals and groups that enthuse and enable delegates to learn and apply new skills and behaviours.

  • Planning: Plan and organise training and development workshops to deliver an outstanding learner experience, collaborating with subject matter experts and people team colleagues as necessary.

  • Online development: Raising awareness and generating interest to ensure our colleagues utilise our online development resources and our People site.

  • L&D projects: Support with BAU, ad-hoc and bespoke L&D projects as required

What we’ll expect from you

  • Initiative and personal drive to manage and deliver your own workload without frequent supervision.

  • Experience in a learning and development role facilitating delivery for a range of behavioural interventions

  • Outstanding facilitation skills that engage and motivate learners

  • Confident communicator with a personable and professional manner and the ability to interact and relate to all levels of colleagues to build strong working relationships.

  • The ability to coach and ask the right questions to fully understand what’s being requested and be able to advise on a beneficial solution

  • Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity when needed.

  • Desire to challenge and build on existing practices, to positively impact the business and support the overall business strategy.

What would set you apart:

To succeed in this role, you will need to be passionate about engaging and training people to deliver results. Building relationships with stakeholders will come naturally, as will working at pace and being inspiring in your delivery. You will be customer focused, dedicated, organised and have good attention to detail whilst also wanting to be part of a great team that has fun!
