Learning & Development Operational Manager
As the L&D Operations Manager, you will drive a transformative initiative aimed at reshaping our current onboarding process for our casework teams, condensing the current 18-week timeline into a more efficient, impactful, and modular approach.
Contract: Fixed term contract 12 months
Working hours: 35 hours per week is full time.Where possible, we are open to considering part time/flexible working patterns. Please let us know in your application your desired working pattern.
Salary: From £58,000

Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office.
This role demands exceptional digital acumen, outstanding project management capabilities, and adept stakeholder management skills. Your proactive approach and ability to take initiative will be essential as you evaluate existing processes and content, manage budgets, and strategically plan for the future of our skills academy with the implementation of a modern and effective onboarding curriculum.
Key responsibilities
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:
  • Leading a cross-functional project team tasked with redefining and optimizing our onboarding process, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrating exceptional project management skills to oversee all aspects of the project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Managing allocated budgets effectively, ensuring resources are utilised efficiently to support project objectives.
  • Directly supervising a team of learning and development specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and solutions for enhancing the onboarding experience
  • Conducting a training needs analysis to gain insights into current processes
  • Redesigning all existing learning content into a modular, skills-based curriculum
  • identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback.
  • Utilising high-level digital intelligence to identify innovative solutions and incorporate technology-driven enhancements into the onboarding process.
  • Collaborating with Directors and other stakeholders to understand requirements, address concerns, and gain buy-in for proposed changes to the onboarding plan.
  • Actively engaging in stakeholder management, fostering positive relationships, and effectively communicating project updates and progress
  • Developing a strategic roadmap for the future skill academy, aligning with organisational goals and industry best practices.
  • Promoting inclusivity within the project team and across the organization, ensuring that diversity and equity are integral components of the onboarding redesign.
Minimum Criteria
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a learning and development or HR context.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong digital intelligence, with a keen understanding of technology trends and their application to learning and development initiatives.
  • Experience within a learning and development function, with operational knowledge of L&D processes and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable Criteria
We would also like you to have the following skills:
  • Familiarity with Workday, particularly in the learning areas and journeys, would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles, with the ability to support the creation of digital learning content.
