Job Title: Learning and Development Manager
Location: Glasgow or Sheffield
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Role Summary

Take responsibility for delivering the key training requirements across the operational delivery team. You will be required to work closely with the Clinical Standards and Senior Service Operations Managers to create a training plan that will help people learn and grow and advance their skills and knowledge throughout their career with Optima Health. You will create training events, manage the training matrix, own the training budget, track results, and evidence success.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop learning strategies and programmes that support both Administration and Clinical staff.
  • Execute learning strategies and programmes.
  • Design career plans, workshops, and e-learning courses to support delivery of programmes.
  • Deliver training in line with career plan schedules for associated roles from induction to highest grade over agreed timeline.
  • Measure and evidence success.
  • Support managers through developing their team members through career planning.
  • Provide leadership, motivation and support.
  • Work with key suppliers to oversee specialist training.
  • Manage the training budget.
  • Manage the business training matrix; own, maintain, grow.
  • Upskill the in house training department to self deliver a comprehensive training package.
  • Test for training effectiveness.
  • Presenting/reporting outcomes in agreed format.
  • Preparing MI summaries, interpreting data and leading on improvement projects.
  • Line Management of the training team; appraisals, performance, objectives, absence.

Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role

  • Proven experience as an L&D manager.
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
  • Familiar with e-learning platforms and practices.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent communicator, strong written communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships and to work collaboratively.
  • Able to prioritise work.
  • Self-motivated and takes responsibility for developing skills through training and experience.
  • Able to work flexibly, reacting to changeable priorities.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Can use existing Policy/ Procedure to solve routine problems and escalate when appropriate.
  • Solution focused and good at problem solving.
  • Experience of producing and analysing statistics.
