Learning & Development Manager
6 Months FTC

My client is a leading UK law firm with offices spanning across most of the larger cities in the UK, as well as London, are looking to hire a Learning & Development Manager to join their wider HR team on a 6 month FTC basis.


The Learning & Development Manager will work closely with the other Manager and Head of L&D in the wider team, supporting the firm with driving forward the L&D strategy.


The key duties will include:


  • Work alongside one other Learning & Development Manager & key business stakeholders to develop, implement & drive the Firm’s Progression Strategy forward, including the consideration of what routes will be supported by the Firm
  • Create, maintain & continually improve the Firm’s solicitor apprentice provision by collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure apprenticeship programmes meet the needs of the business.
  • Manage the Firm’s Apprenticeship Levy alongside the wider team, introducing any necessary systems, processes & policies where necessary.
  • Explore alternative apprenticeship strategies & support the business in moving these forwards where necessary.
  • Manage & onboard external apprenticeship providers where required.
  • Work closely with the Firm’s Recruitment Team and other areas within the wider HR function
  • Support & drive forwards other L&D projects, including performance management, the firm’s values roll out & other appropriate L&D & OD campaigns etc.
  • Be confident speaking to the Firm about all routes to progression & associated pay, as well as the benefits of each pathway.
  • Provide guidance and support to Line Manages on the various routes to progression

The Learning & Development Manager will have extensive L&D experience gained within a legal or professional services environment, at Senior Advisor or Manager level. They will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate using various platforms. They will have exceptional organisational skills with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
