As a lean manufacturing operative your mission is to:

  • Prepare Parts for Painting and Shipping.
  • Assemble parts according to customer specifications.
  • Respect the security and safety standards.

ACTIVITIES

  • Operates the process according to workstation HS&E and manufacturing instructions in order to serve the customer with the expected quality level
  • Accident and Incident reporting
  • Scrap rate
  • Right First Time
  • Product quality needs
  • Assure that all parts meet customer criteria (visual inspection of parts on conveyor according to (SWI).
  • Keep accurate data for defects, scrap, rework
  • Identify defects on parts
  • Use proper process to eliminate defects.
  • Traceability and required paper work.
  • Knowledge of rework and scrap procedures.
  • Maintain line speed by working at pace required.
  • May relieve fellow team members for their breaks.
  • Works according to HSE requirements
  • Other activities as assigned by department leadership.

Additional area specific tasks may apply but all training will be provided:

Injection

  • Trimming, sanding and flaming injection moulded parts for paint process
  • PED truck usage if required – with training provided

Paint

  • Correctly load/unload parts according to paint schedule & work instructions (SWI)
  • Use handheld electrical tool to polish out minor defects.
  • To Prepare Parts for Painting and Shipping to the SILS Center

Assembly/SILS

  • To assemble parts.
  • Correctly load/unload parts according to assembly schedule & work instructions (WI)Hand tool usage

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Basic literacy and maths,
  • Previous Manufacturing experience desirable but not essential as all training provided
  • For positions linked to colours/inspection, tests on colours and vision are required- same for manual ability tests for some other positions.

Desired qualifications

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English Grade 2/E or above.

Things to consider

Due to the location of the Measham site having access to your own vehicle would be desirable, as there is no public transport route.

Due to the requirement to work nights within the shift patterns, candidates will need to be 18 years old or above.

  • Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing
  • Lean Manufacturing Operative Standard (PASS, MERIT, DISTINCTION)
  • Functional skills (if required).

Delivery will start with a 6 week training block based at the employers site in Measham, with occasional visits to our MIRA Technology Institute Campus (CV10 0TU). The training block will cover key modules around health & safety, communication, workplace organisation and problem solving. You will receive a full induction to the company and meet your team before starting your roles within the workshops.

You will use our new AUTOLIVE training tool which is a virtual reality headset, to practice your new skills within a virtual reality workshop.
