Lead Volunteer – Sue Ryder Retail

Our network of 450 retail stores represents the charity in many communities and on numerous high-streets and retail parks across the UK. Our shop teams are the friendly faces of our stores. They are made up of staff and volunteers who undertake equally important roles.

We are looking for Lead Volunteers to support the shop team in Redditch store. Find out more or book a taster.

Conveniently located on the Trafford Retail Park in Redditch, we offer a large range of clothing, bric-a-brac and furniture.

What you will do
All Sue Ryder Shop Volunteers have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the day to day running of the store including but not limited to….
  • Sorting and pricing stock
  • Stock replenishment
  • General customer service
  • Till work
  • Window Dressing
  • PAT Testing
  • Ebay/ Social Media
  • Additionally, our Lead Volunteers receive an enhanced level of training enabling them to take on additional levels of responsibility. This training is both in the store with colleagues, and via eLearning. Lead Volunteers often have the opportunity to take on the responsibility of the day to day running of the shop in the absence of the management team.

    What you will need
  • To be confident to take on additional responsibility on an ad-hoc basis
  • To be happy to take the lead and happy to make decisions
  • To be a good communicator who can work with teams of mixed abilities
  • excellent customer services are essential
  • Willingness to attend training sessions to keep up to date and compliant with our ways of working.
