Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sports Science provision for Solihull Moors FC.
  • Implement player specific conditioning programmes for 1st team and development players.
  • Contribute to the delivery of warm ups, conditioning sessions and rehabilitation sessions.
  • Work closely with the Head of Medical on injury prevention and individual rehabilitation programmes.
  • Conduct thorough and detailed analysis of GPS data, producing daily reports from training and match days.
  • Create and conduct analysis on player/position specific data profiles.
  • Regularly report and feedback to coaching/management staff with regards to players’ fitness.
  • Monitor, analyse and feedback on players’ post match recovery levels.
  • Ensure players’ nutritional needs are met, including food plans for training days, away games and post match at home games.
  • Manage the players’ supplement and water intake, and regularly monitor their hydration.
  • Manage and recruit interns to assist in the Sports Science delivery, liaising with universities/placement providers.
  • Incorporate screening protocols into players’ programmes within set cycles.
  • Produce off season programmes for the 1st team players.

Qualifications

  • Sports Science related degree (E)
  • Valid first aid qualification (E)
  • Post-graduate Sports Science related degree (D)
  • Strength and conditioning qualification (D)
  • Sports nutrition qualification (D)
  • UEFA B Coaching License (D)

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience working within professional sport, preferably football (E)
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team within a Sports Medicine environment (E)
  • Playing experience to a reasonable level of sport (D)

Skills

  • Understanding of long term athletic development and load management (E)
  • Ability to plan and lead pitch and gym based group and individual conditioning and strength programmes (E)
  • Knowledge of injury prevention and recovery strategies (E)
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills (E)
  • Excellent skills within Microsoft Office, particular Excel (E)
  • Competency in operating Sports Science specific software (E)
  • Knowledge of injury rehabilitation and return to play protocols (D)
  • Understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics (D)
