Looking for an experienced Lead Senior Energy Trader who wants to join a specialised company in the design, software development, project management and commissioning of battery storage facilities that provide balancing services and flexibility, all of which is crucial as the UK transitions towards a zero carbon economy powered by renewables.

Salary Up to £65,000

The Role:

  • Create, implement and execute strategies as leader of a 24/7 Shift Trading Team,
  • Trade power contracts of material financial value and direct P&L impact,
  • Research GB power market and real time operation of National Grid balancing actions,
  • Monitoring real time energy market information and implement automated trading practices,
  • Identification of value creation opportunities and developing trading strategies,
  • Lead an exceptionally talented team to achieve its targets
  • Support the business development team in structuring complex PPAs around flexible assets and demand to optimise opportunities in a fast changing regulatory environment

The Individual:

  • Must have minimum 5 years trading and analyst experience in the UK power market
  • Solid quantitative skills and problem solving abilities
  • Qualification in STEM subject from a redbrick university.
  • Enthusiasm for renewable energy and the GB electricity market
  • Comfortable with programming scripting languages
  • Smart and quick to adapt in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Leadership skills highly desirable
  • Capable of dealing with pressure and diligent
  • Able to work permanently in the UK.
