We are currently looking for a Lead Scientist to join our Biopharmaceutical process development and small-scale GMP manufacturing site in Slough, UK.

The Lead Scientist is a key member of the laboratory team, working on multiple complex projects to resolve challenging technical issues and deliver high quality execution of experimental work.

The Lead Scientist is responsib le for planning and executing complex experiments and supporting colleagues in planning and executing their projects. They will identify and implement technical and operational improvements and work closely with customers to resolve complex issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and be accountable for the delivery of multiple projects, including creation and completion of project dashboards.
  • Escalate potential risks and issues in a timely fashion.
  • Lead problem solving / trouble shooting / lessons learned activities
  • Coach, mentor and train members of department as required.
  • Be a role model for communication, best practice and behaviour within Process Development.
  • Accountab le for Customer proposals.
  • Review and write reports to an agreed standard suitable for final review by Head of Department
What We Need You To Have
  • BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Deep experience in cell line construction.
  • Proficient in leading projects independently.
  • Must be an accomplished communicator, excelling in customer interaction and presentations.
  • Be competent in project planning, problem solving and exhibiting good scientific practice.
