Job Summary

The Lead R&D Engineeris a member of the EMEA Field Engineering organization. As a Lead R&D Engineer, you will work closely with our customers, leveraging internal technical and project management teams, to facilitate the end ‐ to ‐ end delivery of our simulation solutions and customer specific software systems.

The delivery of these systems will include the elicitation, documentation and analysis of customers’ business/functional requirements, system design and solution configuration, onsite deployment and implementation, user training and go ‐ live support.

We are flexible in terms of work location and open to candidates who have permanent residency within the EU.

Essential Functions

• Provide Customer Care, Professional services, Business support and BU Assistance as required
• Leads planning, architecture, or research at a project level
• Coordinate’s product design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design and solver research. Acts as a technical reference within a group or product
• Develops and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring
• Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support across multiple solutions. Researches problems discovered by the field & customers and develops solutions, collaborating with the various stakeholders.
• Researches and understands the marketing requirements for solutions, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.

Job Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

• BSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years’ experience, MS with 6 years’ experience, or PhD with 4 years’ experience
• Significant commercial experience with software design and development methodologies
• Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with technology areas such as Microservices, Cloud technologies, Web Architecture, object-oriented design, software configuration management, data structures and algorithms
• Commercial experience with languages such as Python, .NET, C++, Javascript, Angular & React
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
• Ability to translate business needs into development plans
• Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers
• Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance
• Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus
• Ability to travel up to 25%
